Notice to Clubs from Rotary International

Dear District Governors,
 
Good afternoon! I'm writing to alert you of an important new requirement for US Rotary clubs.
 
Beginning in 2008, USA and Puerto Rican Rotary clubs and districts with gross receipts of $25,000 or less will be required to file Form 990-N, an electronic e-Postcard report. This report is required annually starting 15 November 2008. Failure to meet the annual filing requirement for three consecutive years will result in revocation of the tax-exempt status of the club or district in question.

We would like to stress that this form is not required for submission until 2008. Clubs are being alerted so that adequate receipts may be kept throughout the course of the year. As of the date of this message, Form 990-N had not yet been posted on the US Treasury Web site.
